Small groups are an important part of First Pres. These unique gatherings are geared to help people connect with others over a shared experience or interest and every group is geared towards growing in our love and faith in Christ. Small groups are always fluid and changing and more are being started. If you want more information, would like to join a small group, or have other questions please email Pastor Matt.
Alpha Small Group
ALPHA began in 2001 and is an acronym for things we want our small group to be: accountability, learning/laughter, prayer/participation, honesty/humor, action in community. We have individuals and couples who come together to study and share our lives, including joys and concerns. We meet on the 2nd and 4th Sundays during the program year 5:30-7pm. We have done service projects, Bible studies, book discussions, and video-led series; we take turns sharing leadership and bringing dessert.

This group is comprised of seven people. We have been together for years and have shared many significant moments in each other’s’ lives. We meet the second and fourth Sunday of each month in one of our homes. We spend one hour in fellowship with desserts and one hour in study of something pertaining to faith.
Kelley Small Group
This group focuses on fellowship, fun, discussion of topics that impact us as Christians, and personal caring and sharing. Informal group discussions are usually based on Bible passages and other readings, as well as drawing from our life experiences. Meetings occur on the second Wednesday and fourth Thursday of the month from 6:30-8pm which are rotated among members’ residences along with occasional meetings at the church or out for dinner.
Rob and Gloria Kelley

Knit Crochet Ministry
This group of women come together to knit, crochet and to fellowship with one another. This group meets every third Sunday of the month, 9:45am-10:45am in the Chapel downstairs. These ladies also come together to create items of love and comfort, such as prayer shawls, quilts, prayer squares, and baby blankets. Once a year, they host a church-wide sale that benefits an organization of their choice. During the rest of the year, they give items they make to local organizations and non-profits.
We are a group of Mom’s that meet Sunday nights from 5:30pm to 7pm for bible study and fellowship. Our recent studies have centered on books by female Christian authors. We are a very casual group and rotate leadership, although expectations are not very high as we are all busy moms! We also try to be sure to schedule a dinner out periodically. Generally, we meet to share the joys and challenges of being busy moms.
Next Chapter is a women’s small group. We meet the first and third Wednesday of the month at 7pm in member’s homes. This group of women, most of which are recent empty nesters, seek to study the Word, pray for each other’s joys and concerns, and enjoy fellowship with each other. At least twice a year, the group participates in mission outreach opportunities as a way to serve others.
PW is a study fellowship group that meets every third Wednesday of the month at 1:30pm in the church library. We participate in a Bible study, prepared for groups like ours through the Presbyterian Women, PC (USA). We fellowship together and discuss a lesson. We celebrate with Christian women around the world in collecting the Least Coin and joining our least coins with others to support women in need.
Stewardship Adult Christian Education Class

Thursday Morning Book Group
We have a progressive Christian outlook. We read books and articles and watch DVDs selected by the group, discussing the materials with leadership rotating among members. We meet in the library every Thursday.
We visit and sends cards to members who are not able to attend church or participate in church activities. We meet at various times in the month.
Young Marrieds Group
Marriage is perhaps the most sacred ministry many of us are called to and one thing is certain, it's not easy! Marriage is filled with up's and down's and all the in-betweens. But what if God designed marriage to be about more than simply two people sharing life together?
This small group is for couples in their 20's or 30's who want to explore together what God's design for marriage is with other couples seeking the same thing. The group is lead by Pastor Matt Wilcox.
We meet every other Monday, starting September 12, from 6:30-8pm in the Senior High Room.
